Johnson City Housing Market- Fall 2019


We are looking over the housing numbers from Q2 of 2019, and we are encouraged that Johnson City and the surrounding areas lead the state in real estate growth!


When compared to Q2 of 2018, the state of Tennessee was up 6.4%. Johnson City's market rose 7.4%, and Kingsport-Bristol rose a whopping 9.5%. That means that our area outperformed Nashville (6.3% growth), Knoxville (6.6% growth), and our whole state outperformed the rest of the United States (5% growth).


All of those numbers mean that our area has a quickly growing housing market, thanks to a strong local economy and consumer confidence. When more people are confident, they buy and sell more homes.


Among the nationwide talk of a slowing housing market, or an upcoming "soft landing," our area seems to be ignoring the rumors. The Tri-Cities are growing faster than any other metro in the state, and most of the nation. We're lucky to live in this area, and excited for what the future has in store.
